Here are the exciting sessions we are going to have during AYLC 2015

Plenary 1 – The Leader’s Calling

- by Steven Low -

What does a God-chosen leader look like? How is the leader called? What about the character when under scrutiny, the needed competency and courage to get the job done, the necessary chemistry to work as a team, the consultancy network that will enhance the tasks, and the life-long consistency of life and ministry that will leave a legacy?

Plenary 2 –The Leader’s Submission

- by Steven Low -

The leader is a person under authority. He is submitted to the Lordship of Christ, glorifying God in all he does in the power and guidance of the Holy Spirit. Whether advancing the Kingdom of Christ or building up His Church, the leader works under the leadership that covers him. Today’s world has too many leaders doing their own thing and building their own kingdom. Are we leaders who are also followers of others that are above us in authority?

Plenary 3 – The Leader’s Inner Life

- by Dexter -

Who and what is the leader when no one is looking? We must not be leaders who can be accused of being hypocritical. In an age of depravity and danger we must be careful that we are not wolves in sheep’s clothing that will endanger the flock of God. Leaders face many temptations and challenges that will either destroy their soul or disable their ministry. As leaders, how are we to be untainted disciples of Christ in a contaminated society?

THE COMPONENTS OF A THRIVING YOUTH MINISTRY

- by Dexter - Some youth ministries in our Assemblies are thriving while others are struggling. What can we learn from those who are growing? Do we have a complete overview of the various components of a growing youth ministry? Are there principles, skills or methods we can emulate? Or attitudes that we need to adopt?

Elective 1 – Mentoring

- by Dexter -

Who do our youths look up to? What kind of people do they follow? Heroes are hard to come by. How do we foster the people that we lead? What is needed to help others grow to be leaders of ministry for the future? How can we pass on the competence, sustain the character, and enlarge the courage that are needed to empower others to serve?

Elective 2 – Sports Ministry

- by Isaac Chee & Jun Yi -

Certain Assemblies are ‘fishers of man’ through their sports ministry. Their numbers are ever increasing through the various games that they do so well – Futsal, Captain Ball, Football, Badminton, Frisbee, etc. What does it take? What must be done, if we are to grow our youths through such a ministry?

Elective 3 – Drama in Youth Ministry

- by Mei Yoon - Some Assemblies effectively employ drama, arts and music to increase their harvest of souls. How do they thrive? What do they do? How do we start?

Elective 4 – Schools/Tertiary CFs

- by Francis Dunn -

There are some Assemblies who focus on students – be it in government schools, private colleges or universities. They intentionally plant themselves in such institutions to reach out to these young people for Jesus Christ. Can we increase our youths in our Assemblies through such Christian Fellowship ministries? How do we start? What must be done?
